ED Plea Reflects Political Turmoil, Attempt To Polarise Bengal: CPI’s D Raja

Reacting to the Enforcement Directorate’s plea against the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government in the Supreme Court, CPI General Secretary D Raja said the developments in the state are a matter of serious concern. He questioned the timing of the ED’s action, asking why the agency remained inactive for so long before suddenly approaching the court. Referring to the sequence of events involving the ED and the Chief Minister, Raja said it highlights the political turmoil prevailing in West Bengal. He alleged that there is a deliberate political strategy to polarise the state between the Trinamool Congress and the BJP, adding that the situation must be viewed in a broader political context.
