KANPUR: Om Narayan Singh took over the charge of vice-chairman of Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) on Saturday from Tanveer Zafar Ali.
The officials and employees of KDA welcomed him. Singh said that his priorities would be to get the ongoing construction work under Kashi Ram Shaheri Gharib Awas Yojana completed within the stipulated period. Quality of the construction will also be maintained.
The much-awaited Gangotri Awasiya Yojana will also be developed.
He also informed that the ongoing renovation work at Bithoor, Panki and Sarsaiyya would be done speedily.
Talking about developing the city as a tourist hub, Singh said that a sum of Rs 4.96 crore had already been given to tourism department in this regard.
Singh instructed his subordinates to ensure that the greviances of the masses are heard and taken care of and been services be rendered to them.
Singh has served as KDA secretary in the past.
