Kanpur: A student preparing for
NEET was found hanging late Monday in a rented accommodation in Panki, with the family suspecting it to be a case of murder.
The deceased, originally from Varanasi district, had been living in Panki with his elder brother for the past two years. His body was discovered by his elder brother, who returned to Panki from Varanasi on Monday.
According to the elder kin, the boy’s NEET exam had gone well, about which he spoke to his sister as well. He further laid suspicion on some labourers who he said had been working on the ground floor of the house for the past four to five days. He alleged that they killed his brother and hanged the body.
ACP, Panki, Manoj Kumar Singh, said that action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report and the family’s written complaint.
