Jaipur: Promising
Rajasthan golfer Ojaswini Saraswat produced another remarkable performance on the national stage by securing her 12th national title at the IGU Pune Ladies & Junior Girls Golf Championship held at Oxford Golf Resort, Pune, which concluded on Friday.
Representing Rajasthan and Rambagh Golf Club, Ojaswini carded rounds of 73, 74 and a brilliant final round 69 to finish with a total score of 216. Her superb final-day comeback helped her recover crucial strokes and force a playoff for the overall combined honours against Karnataka’s Priya Kumari, who also finished at 216.
After an intense playoff battle, Ojaswini finished runner-up in the overall ladies A & B combined standings. She also grabbed second position in the A & B combined categories while clinching the B girls category title to complete a highly successful campaign with three trophies from the annual championship.
The victory in the B category marked Ojaswini Saraswat’s 12th national win in a short span of a couple of years, further strengthening her reputation as one of the leading golfers on the Indian amateur circuit. Her outstanding final round of 69 under pressure showcased exceptional composure, consistency and fighting spirit against some of the country’s top golfers.
Ojaswini’s achievement brought pride to Rajasthan golf and Rambagh Golf Club, once again highlighting the growing strength of golfers emerging from the state.
