Head constable suspended for allegedly aiding drug smugglers
Jaipur: A head constable posted in the call detail record (CDR) cell of Sriganganagar police was suspended Wednesday for allegedly helping Punjab-based smugglers linked to a heroin consignment dropped by Pakistani drones.
The case relates to the recovery of 10.830 kg heroin, valued at nearly Rs 50 crore, from fields inunder Rawla police station area on March 26. Investigators alleged Mangat Ram misled police teams by supplying incorrect technical inputs and was in contact with one of the arrested smugglers. Five accused were earlier arrested in the case.
