Jaisalmer: Four people died and four others were injured after a Bolero carrying eight passengers overturned near Bhadiyawas village in Rajasthan’s Barmer district Thursday evening, police said.
The occupants were returning to the Chouhtan area of Barmer after offering prayers (Ziyarat) at Ajmer on the occasion of
Eid.
“Information was received Thursday evening about the Bolero overturning near Bhadiyawas village, following which a team was sent to the spot,” Pachpadra police station ASI Amraram said.
Police said seven injured people were taken to Nahata District Hospital in Balotra, where doctors declared three dead. Two critically injured people were referred to Jodhpur, while two others were admitted to a private hospital in Balotra. One of those referred to Jodhpur later died during treatment.
The deceased were identified as Rahmat, 52, wife of Noor Mohammad; Arshad, 8, son of Noor Mohammad; and Kadar Khan, 35, son of Inayat, all residents of Konra Vilayatshah (Chouhtan, Barmer). Habib Khan, 45, also died during treatment.
Police said Kaje Khan and Habib Khan were referred to Jodhpur in critical condition. Razak Khan and Sawai Khan are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Balotra.
A large crowd gathered after the accident, and police said they are investigating. Families of the deceased have been informed, and postmortem proceedings will be carried out after their arrival.
