Jaipur: City police Wednesday arrested six persons for allegedly beating a 32-year-old man to death in Kalwar Monday.
Deputy commissioner of police (west) Prashant Kiran identified the accused as Jaysingh (57),
Vishal (30), Karan (23), Arjun alias Gagan (20), Mohit alias Nandu (18) and Lokesh alias Pawan alias Prahlad (20), all residents of Kalwar.
The victim, Vinod Yogi, was attacked after he objected to the accused bursting firecrackers and allegedly throwing one towards his vehicle. Police said an argument escalated into violence, with the accused assaulting him using an axe, iron rods and pipes. Yogi sustained severe injuries and died.
Police said a special team examined the crime scene, scanned CCTV footage, analysed technical evidence and activated informer networks to identify the accused. All six were arrested after sustained efforts.
Further interrogation is under way to ascertain the role of other persons involved in the incident.
