‘Completely Unacceptable’: Jaishankar Slams Attacks On Merchant Shipping At Azec Plus Meet

India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar raised concerns over attacks on merchant ships, calling them “completely unacceptable” at the Azec Plus meeting in Japan. His statement comes as tensions rise following Donald Trump’s announcement of a US blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. Stressing the importance of secure sea routes, Jaishankar said uninterrupted energy supplies are vital for global economic growth. He noted that recent attacks on vessels in the region pose a serious threat to international trade and stability, especially as multiple ships have reportedly been targeted since the ongoing West Asia conflict began.
