Woman constable attempts to kill self

Indore: A woman constable posted in the first battalion, Police Lines, allegedly attempted to kill self at her flat on Thursday night.The incident came to light after family members found the constable in critical state inside the flat and rushed her to a private hospital.Sadar Bazaar police said the constable, Ruchi, lives on the first battalion premises with her husband Pankaj, who is posted in the crime branch. They received information about the incident from the hospital around 11 pm. Ruchi was not in a condition to record her statement.The reason behind the extreme step was not clear. Investigators said no suicide note was recovered from the spot and the exact circumstances leading to the incident would only be established after statements are recorded.Police said that the couple had a love marriage and have two children, a son and a daughter. Further investigation is underway to any personal or professional factors that may have contributed to the incident.
