A 55-year-old woman and her granddaughter were crushed to death by a speeding train while they were crossing a railway track at an unauthorized crossing near Rajendra Nagar station, Indore government railway police (GRP) said on Wednesday.

Indore: A 55-year-old woman and her granddaughter were crushed to death by a speeding train while they were crossing a railway track at an unauthorized crossing near Rajendra Nagar station, Indore government railway police (GRP) said on Wednesday.
The woman identified as Sharda Bai (55), a resident of Vijalpur and her granddaughter Tanu (15) - a class-9 student, were going to the minor’s school in Prabhu Nagar area to collect her result.

GRP officials said that as they were crossing the tracks to go to Prabhu Nagar located on the other side of the station, when Malwa Superfast Express Dr Ambedkar Nagar to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra train (12919) on the fast track hit the duo. On being alerted, GRP officials rushed to the spot. tnn
