Indore: Two men were killed in two hit and run cases in Indore on Thursday.A 23-year-old man died, and his friend was critically injured when a speeding car rammed their two-wheeler in Tukoganj area.A resident of Aman Nagar in Khajrana, Anas Abbasi, was riding pillion on a two-wheeler when the crash took place around 2.30 am in Tukoganj area. He was accompanied by Majhar Zuber Ahmed, who was driving the scooter, while two of their friends were following them on another vehicle.According to the police, the group had gone towards Sarwate bus stand to have tea and were returning when a car coming from behind hit their scooter. The impact threw both riders onto the road, leaving Anas critically injured.His friends rushed him to MY Hospital, where doctors declared Anas dead during treatment. Majhar sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.Police said that the car driver fled the spot immediately after the crash. Based on the statement of the complainant, a case has been registered for causing death by negligence and rash or negligent acts which endanger human life.
In another incident, a 46-year-old ice cream delivery worker died after being hit by a motorcycle in Chhota Bangarda area on Thursday evening. The victim, Atiq, was returning home from work when the accident took place.According to police, a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction hit Atiq, causing him to lose balance and fall on the road some distance away. Bystanders rushed him to hospital immediately, where he succumbed during treatment.The bike rider fled the spot after accident. Police said CCTV footage from the area captured the sequence, showing the biker cutting into Atiq's path moments before the fall. Efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused.Atiq was the sole breadwinner of his family. He leaves behind wife and two sons.
