Soon after, near Bajad Phata, the truck rammed into another two-wheeler, killing 38-year-old Mukesh, a resident of Petlawad in Jhabua district, on the spot. Mukesh was working with a company related to Nal Jal Yojna.
In a third incident a short distance away, the container struck another motorcycle, resulting in the death of 36-year-old Anita Bai. Her husband Ashish Sen and their son Nikhil sustained injuries. The family was returning after offering prayers at the Bijasan Mata Temple located near the Madhya Pradesh–Maharashtra border.
All the injured were admitted to the district hospital for treatment.
