I would also like to appeal to all political parties in Uttar Pradesh and across the country to refrain from making statements that may harm national interest during such times. The Government of India’s policies and strategies are guided by what is in the best interest of the nation. Those who indulge in irresponsible political rhetoric may gain some temporary advantage, but actions that harm the country are never forgiven by the people. During the Covid crisis too, some spread rumours and misinformation about vaccines, but the public rejected such politics.
I have explained in detail in Parliament how to deal with the crisis arising from the ongoing (West Asia) conflict. I also held a long and positive discussion with all Chief Ministers yesterday. I urge all citizens to remain calm, patient and united to face this crisis together. This is a situation that is creating challenges across the world, and we must focus on safeguarding our country’s interests.

Read moreNoida International Airport will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, but the earliest date for flight operations to begin is likely only by May.The delay is not because of unfinished infrastructure. It is because of final regulatory steps that every airport must clear before airlines can open bookings and begin operations. The most important of these is the Aerodrome Security Programme (ASP) certification by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.ASP is the airport’s core security framework, laying down how checks will work from entry gates to boarding, and assigning responsibilities to all stakeholders, including the airport operator, airlines, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and ground handlers. It also sets out contingency plans to help authorities respond quickly to any security situation.
Read moreIn 2019, when land acquisition began for Noida International Airport, Saurav Kumar saw a future that would not involve getting out of Jewar and joining the rat race in Delhi or another big city. A BTech student then, Saurav went on to study MTech in automobile engineering, hoping to have the right qualification for the jobs he expected to come to town, accompanying the airport. His family was among those that gave up land for the project and was assured of a job, besides compensation. The money came, but not the job. Like Saurav, many Jewar youths have become steadily disillusioned as the airport has taken shape and is now ready for inauguration.
