Mhow: Lokayukta sleuths arrested a sub engineer posted with Mhow janpad panchayat while taking bribe from a panchayat secretary in Mhow on Friday afternoon."Ramesh Chandra Chohan, secretary of Yashwantnagar panchayat had complained to the Lokayukta police that sub engineer Savitri Muwel was demanding Rs15000 as bribe for endorsing the measurement book of a cement concrete road constructed in Yashwantnagar village. Rs 4.52 lakhs were sanctioned for the project and payment to the contractor was not possible without her signature," Inspector Renu Agrawal told mediapersons.On the information of Chohan, police team reached janpad panchayat office of Mhow and as soon as Chohan handed over the cash to Savitri, they caught her red-handed. She was booked under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act 2018 and taken into custody.
