Indore: A Sadar Bazaar resident was arrested and 57.73 grams of mephedrone (MD) was seized from him by crime branch officials on Friday.
The man, identified as Mohd Nooruddin, a resident of Sadar Bazar was caught near Pathar Godam Road close to veterinary hospital while he was moving with a backpack. Seeing his nervous behaviour on spotting a police team, the officials detained him and searched his bag leading to the recovery of 57.73 grams of MD.
Police said that Nooruddin worked in repair-related jobs and has studied up to Class 8. During preliminary questioning, he admitted to procuring the drug at a lower rate and supplying it to addicts in Indore at higher prices to make quick profits.
The total value of the goods seized from him including a mobile phone was estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh. A case was registered at the crime branch police station under sections 8 and 22 of the NDPS Act.
