Indore: A man, who police claimed used to break into vehicles parked at wedding venues, was arrested on Wednesday and a licenced pistol, live cartridges, and other stolen items valued at approximately Rs 4 lakh were recovered from him.
The arrest came after a case was registered following a complaint by Keshav Soni, a resident of Raisen, who had attended a wedding at Malhar Garden in Palda on April 27. Soni reported that an unidentified person had smashed window of his SUV and stolen his licenced pistol along with cash.
An FIR under Section 305(c) of BNS was filed and a special team led by Bhanwarkuan police station in-charge Santosh Dudhi meticulously scanned footage from nearly 400 CCTV cameras across the city to track the suspect's movement.
Based on technical surveillance and informer inputs, the police identified and arrested the suspect, Salman Khan (30), a resident of Musakhedi, Indore.
An investigation revealed that Salman was a repeat offender with a long criminal record involving similar property-related offences across various police stations.
