Hundreds offer namaz at Sadar Bazaar Eidgah on Eid-ul-Fitr

Indore: Hundreds of faithful gathered at Sadar Bazaar Eidgah on Saturday to offer namaz on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking end of the holy month of Ramazan, as the city's markets and streets buzzed with festive colour ahead of the celebrations.Shops selling clothes, bangles, sweets, and gifts drew heavy footfall, while streets glowed with decorative lights across busy commercial areas. Indore's famed Sarafa Bazaar, already renowned for its night food scene, took on vibrant hues, with food stalls and vendors drawing large crowds late into the evening.In the morning, Shahar Qazi, Ishrat Ali, led the prayers at Eidgah after which people exchanged warm embraces and Eid greetings with one another.Speaking to mediapersons after the namaz, Shahar Qazi raised concerns about drug abuse among Muslim youth, calling for community-level action against those responsible."I extend my Eid greetings to everyone. One concern is that substance abuse has become common among the youth nowadays, and it is distressing that even those selling intoxicants are Muslims. We have said that such drug sellers should face social boycott, as they are destroying generations for the sake of some coins," he said.The Qazi also used his address to call for greater economic nationalism, urging citizens to shun foreign goods in favour of domestically produced alternatives."India has made significant progress since independence, and there is hardly anything in the world that is not manufactured here. Therefore, we should boycott foreign products and make use of indigenous products.
