Hospital faces registration suspension notice, sonography machines sealed after inspections
Indore: A private multi-speciality hospital was served a notice proposing suspension of its registration for one month, while authorities sealed sonography machines at another private hospital after inspections allegedly uncovered irregularities in hospital operations, documentation and PCPNDT compliance.The action follows inspections carried out by health department teams under the directions of collector Shivam Verma. Officials said deficiencies were detected in several departments of the multi-speciality hospital, including the OPD, emergency department, pharmacy, cardiac and neuro ICU units, operation theatre, medical records department, PCPNDT section, pathology laboratory, blood bank and building maintenance records.Based on the inspection report submitted to the chief medical and health officer (CMHO), authorities issued a notice proposing suspension of the hospital’s registration for a period of one calendar month.In a separate case, officials sealed all sonography machines at another private hospital after an inspection under the PCPNDT Act allegedly found irregularities in its operations.According to health department officials, a subsequent inquiry found that two doctors were allegedly performing echocardiography-related work without the required registration.
CMHO Dr Madhav Prasad Hasani informed the district administration about the findings, following which action was initiated.Acting on the directions of the collector, a PCPNDT team visited the hospital on Friday and sealed all ultrasound machines with immediate effect. Officials also put the renewal of the hospital’s PCPNDT registration certificate on hold and completed the necessary legal formalities on the spot.
