Indore: Eyeing higher milk procurement and aiming to reduce losses during storage and transit, the MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation has begun a major digital overhaul of its operations by introducing an integrated enterprise resource planning system across its dairy network.
The federation has also developed a mobile application to digitise milk procurement through village-level dairy cooperative societies. Through the app, milk producers will receive instant SMS alerts with details such as fat percentage and other quality parameters of the milk supplied by them, bringing greater transparency in procurement and quality monitoring.
The transformation is being implemented under the National Dairy Development Board Enterprise Resource Planning (NDERP) platform after the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) took over the management of the federation.
Dr Sanjay Govani, managing director of the MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation, said the digital initiative will help improve efficiency and transparency across the dairy network. "Digitalisation will bring transparency and consolidate operational data on a single platform, making it easily accessible for monitoring and decision-making. It will also help strengthen the milk procurement system and overall coordination across the federation," Govani said.
Officials said the system is designed to bring real-time monitoring and faster decision-making across the cooperative dairy network that operates through Dugdh Sanghs in Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Sagar.
In March 2026, the federation recorded an average milk procurement of about 11.77 lakh kg per day, while packet milk sales stood at around 6.63 lakh litres per day, indicating the scale of operations that are now being brought under the digital platform.
Digitisation has already been implemented in departments such as marketing, stock inventory, order placement and finance.
