Auto-driver caught for stabbing lawyer

Indore: An auto-rickshaw driver was arrested for allegedly stabbing an advocate after a road rage reported in Khajrana area on Friday evening, the police said on Monday.
The arrested accused identified as Tabrez, a resident of Khajrana area, was caught from Shujalpur, Khajrana police station in-charge Dinesh Verma said. He said that the accused had allegedly stabbed Sajid Ali with a knife more than 14 times over a dispute at Faruqi Square in Khajrana area after a road rage.The victim was riding a bicycle to his home when an auto-rickshaw came in the wrong lane and brushed against his bicycle. When he shouted, the accused auto-driver stopped-by and came out of the vehicle and later attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. He had fled from the spot and was absconding since then. “We received an input about the accused driver of hiding at one of his relatives’ house in Shujalpur and on the basis of which, a team was sent there and rounded him up,” claimed Verma, while adding that the accused was produced in a local court and sent for police remand.
