TIRUPATI: TDP leader Roja faced some bitter moments during her campaign in some of the mandals of Chandragiri on Friday when people boycotted her show by locking their houses.Roja was shocked by the behaviour of voters when she was campaigning in Medarapalle and Bandlakadapalle in Yerravaripalem mandal of Chandragiri constituency, which happens to be the ivory tower of Congress.
When the actress-turned- politician began abusing Congress leaders, the villagers took offence to her comments and asked her to go away.
Roja, who became furious at their behaviour, hit out at VRO Balasubramaniyam for acting as an agent in the hands of sitting MLA Galla Aruna Kumari. The villagers lost their temper when she continued her verbal war against the official.The efforts of TDP leaders went in vain when the villagers turned down their plea to attend her meeting as they locked their houses. Roja was forced to come back without completing her campaign in the mandal.GMR chairman to bear expenses for air-conditioning compartments in TirumalaTIRUMALA: GMR group chairman G M Rao has come forward to bear the expenses for air-conditioning 23 compartments in the Vaikuntham queue complex in Tirumala. On Friday, TTD EO K V Ramanachary inaugurated one of the A/C compartments which was set up at a cost of Rs 6 crore in the queue complex II. The GMR chief also assured the TTD to donate for pro-pilgrim amenities.
