Telangana assembly speaker objects to KTR’s remarks on disqualification verdict
Hyderabad: Assembly speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar took strong objection to remarks made by BRS MLA KT Rama Rao over his judgement on the disqualification petitions of some legislators, including Khairatabad MLA Danam Nagender.During a debate on the motion of thanks to the governor, KTR said the party was disappointed with the speaker's judgement on disqualification petitions against 10 ‘defected' MLAs, including Danam Nagender, who was elected on a BRS party ticket and later contested the Lok Sabha elections from another party.

Reacting strongly, the speaker questioned how KTR could comment without reading the judgement, adding that the party was free to file an appeal. KTR responded that the party would definitely approach the high court, while asserting that he respects both the speaker's chair and Prasad Kumar personally. When minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy questioned how a member could make allegations against the speaker over his judgement, and pointed out that the BRS had also encouraged defections when it was in power, KTR hit back, saying it was the Congress party that introduced ‘Ayarama Gayaram' culture in the country.
