“Yesterday evening, a threatening letter arrived at my home address. Several such letters have come earlier too. We have written to the DGP, the Commissioner and even the Chief Minister, asking them to identify those behind these threat calls and letters, but not a single person has been caught till date,” Raja Singh said to news agency ANI. He claimed that the sender of the latest letter had written that police had summoned him earlier, verified his Aadhaar card and let him go, and that law enforcement could not take action against him. Raja Singh alleged that the letter also contained threats directed at his son. Calling the situation unfortunate, the MLA urged the Telangana director general of police, the Hyderabad Police commissioner and the chief minister to trace the origin of the letters and identify those responsible.
He suggested examining postal records and nearby CCTV footage to establish the sender’s identity. Raja Singh asserted that neither he nor his family would be intimidated by such threats. “We will not be intimidated by threatening calls or letters. Our family will continue to work for religious causes,” he said. Police officials have not yet issued a formal statement on the matter. (With agency inputs)
