Man bludgeoned to death with stone after dispute over sex worker near Tamil Nadu's Ennore beach
CHENNAI: A dispute over accompanying a woman believed to be a sex worker ended in murder near Ennore on Saturday night. Police arrested a 35-year-old car driver in connection with the killing, while efforts are on to identify the victim. The accused, Maheswaran of Burma Nagar in Ennore, was drinking with a friend at a Tasmac outlet before they set off on a motorcycle.

As they passed Ramakrishna Nagar beach, they noticed a man speaking to a woman by the shore. Police said Maheswaran and his friend approached the woman. The man who was standing beside the woman objected to this and it led to a heated argument. Maheswaran sent his friend away with the woman and continued quarrelling with the other man. Maheswaran, later struck him on the back of the head repeatedly with a stone, before fleeing the spot.
