Man drives at over 200 kmph on Hyderabad’s ORR, arrested after video goes viral

Hyderabad: A man who drove his car at 200 kmph on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and uploaded a video of the act on social media was arrested by the Narsingi police.

According to the police, the incident took place on May 10. The accused drove from the Narsingi ORR stretch towards the TG Police Academy while recording the drive and displaying the speedometer reading. He later uploaded the video to his social media account.

In the video released by the police, the accused is seen attempting to match the speed of a sports car that was also travelling at high speed on the ORR.

After noticing the video on social media, a road patrolling officer lodged a complaint at the Narsingi police station. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and tracked down the accused, identified as Yashwanth Reddy, a resident of Puppalaguda.

During questioning, the accused reportedly told the police that he drove the car at high speed to check the vehicle’s condition. He was booked under Sections 125 ( an act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash driving on a public way) of the BNS.
