Illegal horse racing betting busted, 5 held

Hyderabad: Special Operations Team (SOT) sleuths of Rachakonda busted an illegal betting racket on horse racing and arrested five persons, including a businessman from Meerpet.
LB Nagar SOT sleuths arrested businessman Thirmal Reddy Joji Reddy (42), who is organiser of the betting, accountant-cum-sub organiser A Joseph Reddy (39), accountant-cum-book keeper Franklin Koma Reddy (39) and two punters, Madhav Reddy (47) and D Ramchandra Reddy (52).Police seized Rs 42 lakh from the accused.
Rachakonda CP Mahesh Bhagwat said main accused Joji Reddy lost money in betting on horse races and decided to make quick money by becoming a bookie for betting on online horse racing. The arrests were made through a decoy operation. Two laptops and five mobile phones were also recovered . tnn
