Hyderabad: In a major administrative reshuffle, the state govt on Thursday night transferred 27 IAS officers and posted new zonal commissioners to the expanded
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
Special chief secretary Jayesh Ranjan was appointed special chief secretary for Metropolitan Area and Urban Development (HMDA limits), relieving chief secretary K Rama Krishna Rao of the full additional charge. Ranjan will continue to handle the youth advancement and tourism department. The post had been vacant for several months following the transfer of Ilambarithi.
Rama Krishna Rao will continue to hold the full additional charge of special chief secretary and CEO of industry and investment cell in the CMO, and Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery (SPEED).
Rajanna-Sircilla collector M Haritha was transferred and posted as secretary, Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), replacing Priyanka Ala. Additional collector Garima Agarwal was placed as in-charge collector of Rajanna-Sircilla until further orders.
EV Narasimha Reddy, additional CEO of the investment cell, was relieved and will continue as managing director of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation. Bhavesh Mishra, deputy secretary in the IT department, was given additional charge as additional CEO of industry and investment.
Narayan Amit Malempati, sub-collector of Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district, was posted as additional collector (local bodies), Narayanpet.
A Nirmala Kanthi Wesley, secretary and CEO of the Telangana Human Rights Commission, was made in-charge director of employment and training.
B Shafiullah, secretary in the minorities welfare department, was appointed in-charge vice-chairman and managing director of the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation. G Veera Reddy, additional collector (revenue), Yadadri-Bhongir, was posted as executive director (land acquisition), TGIIC.
Following the expansion of the GHMC from 650 sq km to about 2,000 sq km and near completion of delimitation, the govt created additional zones and circles to improve decentralisation and service delivery. GHMC now has 12 zones and 60 circles, up from six zones and 30 circles. The civic body's population has crossed 1.3 crore, the govt said in a GO.
The newly appointed zonal commissioners are Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao (Serilingampally), Apurv Chauhan (Kukatpally), Sandeep Kumar Jha (Qutubullapur), S Srinivas Reddy (Charminar), G Mukunda Reddy (Golconda), Priyanka Ala (Khairatabad), Anuraag Jayanti (Rajendranagar), N Ravi Kiran (Secunderabad), K Chandrakala (Shamshabad), Hemanta Keshav Patil (LB Nagar), Sanchit Gangwar (Malkajgiri) and Radhika Gupta (Uppal).
