Hyderabad: Telangana's Class 10 students achieved their best SSC results in recent years on Wednesday, with the overall pass percentage rising to 95.15%, up from 92.78% last year.School education minister K Keshava Rao announced the results at the Godavari auditorium on the SCERT campus, along with principal secretary Yogita Rana and director of school education E Naveen Nicolas.Of 5,26,166 students who appeared for the examination, 4,97,312 passed. Girls continued to outperform boys, recording a pass percentage of 96.26% compared to 94.07% for boys—a gap of 2.19 percentage points. In 2025, girls had a pass percentage of 94.26% and boys 91.32%, indicating improvement for both, while the gender gap remained nearly unchanged. Among districts, Mulugu recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.30%, while Hyderabad had the lowest at 89.23%. Rangareddy ranked 30th with 92.96%, and Medchal ranked 24th with 95.24%. A total of 5,731 schools achieved a 100% pass rate.Social welfare residential schools led among school managements with a pass percentage of 99.1%. Other institutions—including Telangana State Residential Schools, BC Welfare Residential Schools, Minority Welfare Residential Schools, Tribal Welfare Residential Schools, Model Schools, Ashram Schools, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas, and private schools—also recorded pass percentages above the state average of 95.15%.Among the 9,351 students who had previously failed and reappeared, 5,538 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 59.22%. Children with special needs also performed well, with 1,409 out of 1,493 candidates passing, achieving a pass percentage of 94.37%.Speaking of the increase in pass percentage, Naveen Nicolas told TOI: "The biggest relief for parents and students was the four-five days gap between exams. It helped them take enough rest and restart studying. We had also finished the syllabus by Dec for govt schools, and then started with remedial classes. From Jan to March, teachers were dedicatedly attending to the doubts of students. About the six schools that got a 0% pass percentage, most of them are private schools with a negligible strength.""Our students showed real discipline and determination this year," said Simple Dayama, dean of Slate The School. "Strong mentoring and a structured approach made the difference. This is not just about academics—it reflects the spirit we have tried to build."The SSC examinations were conducted from March 14 to April 16. The minimum pass mark was 35 out of 100 for each subject, except for the second language, where it was 20 out of 100.
