Review meet on water

GADAG: Belgaum regional commissioner B H Manjunath has directed tahsildars and taluk panchayat CEOs to compulsorily visit villages to address people's problems. He was speaking at a review meeting of drinking water project implementation, at the DC's office here recently.
He also directed the heads of local bodies to personally monitor the drinking water project works.Gadag DC said that the state finance commission has granted Rs 1.92 crore for solving the drinking water crisis. Rs 1 crore has also been sanctioned for supplying drinking water to five taluks of the district. He said new borewells would be dug in 11 villages.
