Belagavi: Various valuables, including gold, silver jewellery, vehicles, and cash worth Rs 6.3 crore, seized under criminal cases of 2025, were handed over to their owners at a property parade held at the Police Parade Ground in Belagavi on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media after the parade, city police commissioner Bhushan Borase said that police investigated cases related to property theft, extortion, house and vehicle thefts registered in various police stations of Belagavi city in 2025, arrested the culprits, and seized cash and valuables. Rs 6.3 crore worth of items includes 2.3kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 2 crore, 294g of silver jewellery worth Rs 13,059, and 85 vehicles of different companies worth Rs 3.9 crore, he said.
The seized vehicles include eight Ashok Leyland trucks, seven-wheeler trucks, five cars from different companies, and 65 motorcycles from different companies. In addition, Rs 1.1 lakh in cash was seized. Police seized 140 mobile handsets worth a total of Rs 20 lakh, he explained.
The process of handing over all the valuables to the owners of the property is underway as per the court order. The public should cooperate with the police department in such investigations. The senior police officials were present.
