K’buragi police arrest 7 accused in theft & extortion cases

Kalaburagi: City police commissioner Sharanappa SD said that valuable assets were confiscated in house burglary, bike theft, and extortion cases registered in four different police stations in Kalaburagi city.The cases were cracked, a total of 7 Sharanappa said that, in connection with a house theft in 2022 under the jurisdiction of RG Nagar police station, accused Suresh alias Gangarama Daulat Chavan, a resident of Mindargi in Akkalakote taluk of Maharashtra, was arrested. Police seized Rs 6.7 lakh worth of 45 gram gold ornaments from him.Stolen bikes were found at various places within Chowk police station limits. Sheikh Nisar Ahmed, who was an inter-state and inter-district criminal, was arrested, and 8 bikes worth Rs 3.9 lakh were seized. Similarly, 14 bikes worth Rs 8.2 lakh were seized in cases filed under Station Bazar police station, and accused Ramchandra Hosmani, a resident of Korawar of Kalagi taluk in Kalaburagi district, was arrested and sent to judicial custody.Four notorious robbers who were involved in five extortion cases registered under MB Nagar police station were arrested. mobile phones, gold jewellery, a bike, a vanity bag, and other assets worth Rs 6.1 lakh were seized. Abu Sheikh of Azadpur, Majid alias Mataka Majeed of Bilalabad Colony, Sheikh Hussain of Sonia Gandhi Colony, and Mohammad Arif of Millat Nagar were arrested and sent to judicial custody.
