Dibrugarh:
A total of 16 tribal students from upper Assam experienced a moment of a lifetime when they met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan recently, marking the most inspiring highlight of their ongoing National Integration Tour organised by the
Indian Army.
The interaction between the President and the young learners was both cordial and motivational, with President Murmu taking time to personally engage with each student about their academic aspirations and experiences during the tour on Sept 11.
The President also commended the Indian Army’s initiative, lauding the organisation for providing the young learners with such an enriching opportunity to experience India’s democratic institutions and cultural heritage firsthand.
The students’ week-long stay in the national capital has been packed with educational visits designed to broaden their understanding of India’s rich history and democratic values. They explored the PMs’ Sangrahalaya, where they learned about the nation’s leadership legacy, and paid homage at the National War Memorial, gaining insights into the sacrifices made by India’s armed forces.
Their itinerary also included visits to iconic landmarks such as India Gate, the vibrant cultural marketplace at Dilli Haat, the historic Qutub Minar, and the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum.
Each destination offered unique perspectives on India’s architectural heritage, cultural diversity, and democratic traditions.
The National Integration Tour, a flagship initiative under Operation Sadbhavana, specifically targets students from remote and tribal regions with the objective of connecting them to India’s diverse traditions, while showcasing the country’s modern achievements and democratic institutions.
