Auto driver arrested for sexually harassing five-year-old girl in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore city police arrested an auto driver on Thursday evening for sexually harassing a five-year-old girl while she was returning home.The arrested man has been identified as A Ganesh, 52, of Sowripalayam. He drives his auto to drop and pick up school children. A five-year-old girl was commuting to school in Ganesh's auto. On Thursday, the child arrived home an hour later than usual.When her parents inquired about the delay, she informed them that the auto driver had misbehaved with her through inappropriate touches. The mother of the minor girl lodged a complaint with the all-women police (south). The police booked Ganesh under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was remanded in judicial custody.
