One dead, biker critical in separate Cachar accidents
Silchar: One person died while a youth sustained critical injuries in two separate accidents reported from Cachar district on Eid ul-Zuha on Thursday. An unidentified man was found lying in a bloodied condition beside a railway track at Chandranathpur on Thursday morning. Local residents who spotted him said the injured man was crying for help.He was rushed to Sonapur Ramkamal Health Centre by locals but died during treatment. His identity was yet to be ascertained till the filing of this report. The incident created panic in the area. Government Railway Police (GRP) from Badarpur and Barkhola Police later reached the hospital and launched an investigation.In another incident, a 22-year-old youth suffered serious head injuries in a road accident at Kathal Road Point in Silchar early on Thursday morning. The injured, identified as Sabir Hossain alias Kabuli of Meherpur area, was reportedly riding a motorcycle at high speed from the Silchar Medical College side when the bike rammed into a truck parked near a mosque at Kathal Road Point.The impact flung the biker off the vehicle, leaving him critically injured. Local residents rushed him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital.Traffic police arrived at the spot and seized the damaged motorcycle and the truck. Sabir’s condition was stated to be critical.
