IGP: Rs 15cr meth seized in 1 wk across Mizoram

Aizawl: Mizoram Police have seized 19.518 kg of methamphetamine and crystal meth estimated to be worth over Rs 15.61 crore at four locations in the state during the past one week, IGP H Ramthlenglianasaid on Monday.The IGP said 3.383 kg of meth was seized at Saitual on Sunday from two Assam residents.On Friday, Champhai police and Assam Rifles personnel recovered 5.188 kg of meth from an abandoned rucksack near Zokhawthar village. The same day, officials of the Dungtlang PS seized 5.9 kg of meth and 68 grams of heroin from another truck.During the course of probe, an individual, identified as HT Rodawngliana, who had evaded police, was apprehended on Saturday at Dungtlang, leading to a recovery of 3kg meth. In Aizawl, Special Narcotics PS with Assam Rifles seized crystal meth of 2.045kg arresting two persons.
