Conrad Sangma on Friday expressed concern over rising HIV cases in the state, especially among the youths, and urged the people to behave responsibly.
Speaking at a programme to mark the diamond jubilee of the Synod College, Conrad expressed concern over the rise in HIV cases as well as other issues, including drug abuse.
“These are challenges we can overcome, but only if we work together — institutions, student bodies and society as a whole,” Conrad said.
The Meghalaya CM highlighted the demographic potential of the state, adding that nearly 50% of the population was below the age of 20.
Conrad said that with the right guidance, the youths of the state could become its greatest strength.
