Canter hits bike, 2 brothers die; another rams into auto, injures 4
Gurgaon: Two brothers were killed after a canter hit their motorcycles from behind on Pataudi-Haily Mandi Road on Thursday morning. In a separate incident, four women were injured after a speeding canter truck rammed into a stationary auto-rickshaw on Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway near Star Mall in Sector 31 on Wednesday night. In the first incident, Ishwar Singh (60) and Gugan Singh (64), residents of Qutubpur village in Rewari, were killed when the canter hit their motorcycles and ran over them. The accused, Sonu, a native of Uttar Pradesh, was later arrested.
An FIR was registered at Pataudi police station under Sections 281 and 106 of the BNS. In the second incident, the accident occurred around 9.50pm when Sunil, an auto driver from Narsinghpur village, halted his vehicle due to a punctured tyre while travelling from Leisure Valley Park towards Sadar Bazar. Five women were on board at the time. Police said the women worked at a stall at Saras Mela in Leisure Valley Park and were heading to a hotel in Sadar Bazar. Sunil parked the auto on the roadside, switched on the parking lights and placed a reflector behind the vehicle while arranging alternative transport. A canter allegedly hit the auto from the rear at high speed. Four women, who were standing in front of the auto, sustained injuries and were taken to Sector 10 govt hospital. One of the passengers suffered a leg fracture, while the others had minor injuries. The driver fled the spot. An FIR was registered at Sector 40 police station under Sections 281, 125(A) and 324(4) of the BNS.
