May Christ inspire us to walk path of kindness: Goa CM

Panaji: Archbishop of Goa, Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao, extended his Christmas greetings to Goans and prayed for “the disturbed” state of the world.

“In today’s world, where power and strength are glorified, promoting peace and justice is a distant dream. The child at Bethlehem brings to us a clear message that love, with humility, can create a world of peace, justice, and fraternity. May this Christmas help us to bring peace to the disturbed world, justice to the oppressed, and fraternal love to our families, neighbourhoods, and to the needy,” he said.




Chief minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, , called Christmas “a celebration of peace, goodwill, compassion, hope and values that strengthen the social fabric of Goa.” He highlighted that the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ continue to inspire humanity to walk the path of kindness, humility, and service to others. He urged people to embrace these values not only during the festive season but throughout the year, fostering a sense of unity and mutual respect among all communities in Goa.

“Goa has always been known for peaceful coexistence,” he said, urging citizens to continue nurturing these cherished values by promoting understanding, respect, and unity across all sections of society. “Let the spirit of Christmas remind us to live with love and harmony, and to uphold the unique bonds that make Goa a model of peaceful living,” he said.

He further called upon the people of Goa to join govt in its its efforts to drive development. The chief minister noted that public cooperation is essential for the successful implementation of various developmental initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, enhancing public services, empowering youth, and ensuring sustainable growth.

Governor Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raj, also extended wishes to all the people of Goa. “Let us renew our commitment to live up to the message of love and compassion that Jesus preached, and work together to build a Goa where peace, harmony, and unity prevail.”
