GHAZIABAD: Three four-wheelers were gutted in the fire after a fire broke out in a car workshop located near the Rapid Metro station, New Bus Stand, Hindon Dharma Kanta, in the early hours of Wednesday.According to the fire department, a total of two fire tenders were used to control the flames. Yet, the cause of the fire is unknown, but officials suspected a short circuit. No casualty was reported.Rahul Pal, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), said that the fire department received information about the fire at 5 am, and immediately the fire officer departed for the spot with 2 fire tankers and a water bowser. Upon arrival at the scene, it was observed that the fire broke out in the workshop of New Auto Life Motors, Meerut Road, near Dharma Kanta.“Two hose pipes were immediately deployed and pumping was initiated to douse the fire. Within 30 minutes, the fire in the workshop was completely extinguished. There were 6 vehicles inside the workshop at the time. Acting swiftly, the Fire Service Unit rescued 3 vehicles and prevented the fire from spreading to the surrounding area,” he said.The owner of the workshop was identified as Mohammad Arif alias Kallu Mistry. At the time of the incident, he was sleeping along with some mechanics. “When we woke up, the fire was surrounding the workshop and heavy smoke was coming out. Immediately, I dialled 112 for help and within some time, the fire department along with local police came to help us,” he said.
