NEW Delhi: Over 130 offers were made by recruiters at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, on the first day of placements. Over a 100 more were made on day two, says a statement from IIT-Delhi's Training and Placement Cell, and over 20 students bagged international offers over the two days.
The statement adds that the day one offers were made by "large organisations including a few major consulting firms, financial firms, core engineering firms, start-ups, IT companies as well as a large government undertaking." There were 110 pre-placement offers --- typically based on internships --- of which 70 were accepted. Over 10 students also opted for the deferred placement programme --- an option made available by the institute to encourage start-ups. But students have to apply for it and go through a rigourous screening process before they are accepted.
"Over 270 organisations across sectors offering over 400 job roles have already registered for placements in the coming few days. T&P is in talks with many others who will be registering," says the statement.
