Destination weddings are a hit

Looks like the big, fat Indian weddings keep getting bigger with each passing year and more people are now opting for picture-perfect destination weddings. Talking about this, Mehak Shahani, WedMeGood co-founder, told PTI, "One in every four weddings in 2025 was a destination event...Among weddings with budgets over Rs 1 crore, more than 60% were destination celebrations. Last year, the average destination wedding cost around Rs 51.1 lakh, but in 2025 it rose to about Rs 58 lakh.”

Some popular destinations for weddings in India include Jaipur, Mussoorie and Goa, while international places include Vietnam, Thailand, among others.
