ISIS-inspired terror module busted: Delhi Police arrest two suspects Aftab and Danish

In a coordinated operation, central intelligence agencies and Delhi Police Special Cell busted an ISIS-inspired terror module in Delhi, arresting Aftab in South Delhi. Raids are ongoing across multiple states, with around a dozen suspects detained. Another suspect, Danish, was arrested in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and is being brought to Delhi on remand.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police, in coordination with central intelligence agencies, have uncovered an ISIS-inspired terror module in the capital, arresting at least two suspects early on Wednesday. The first arrest took place in South Delhi, where the accused has been identified as Aftab. The operation was led by Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha. Following this, raids were carried out in other states. In Ranchi, Jharkhand, Danish, a resident of Petarwar in Bokaro district, was arrested from a room at Tabarak Lodge in Islamnagar, Lower Bazar police station area. Police recovered several electronic devices from the lodge. “Delhi Police Special Cell received information about him, after which, in coordination with Jharkhand ATS, a raid was conducted at the lodge, and he was arrested,” said an officer. Both Aftab and Danish, along with a few others detained during the ongoing raids, are being brought to Delhi on remand for questioning. Around a dozen suspects have been detained so far across multiple states, sources said."The arrested terrorist was staying in a room in Tabarak Lodge located in Islamnagar of the Lower Bazar police station area of Ranchi. Delhi Police Special Cell received information about him, after which, in coordination with Jharkhand ATS, a raid was conducted at the lodge and he was arrested. ATS and Delhi Police Special Cell have also seized several electronic devices from the lodge," said an officer.
