Seven inmates of Coimbatore Central Prison transferred to other jails in TN

COIMBATORE: Seven inmates of the Coimbatore Central Prison were on Thursday transferred to different prisons in the state on “administrative grounds.” Prison sources said the seven prisoners had been uncooperative and frequently involved in quarrels with prison staff members and inmates.The transferred prisoners are Saddam Hussain alias Sadam, Samsudeen alias Samsu alias Koolai Samsu, Ansath alias Anu, Akram Zindha, Jaffar Ali alias Jaffar and Abdul Munal alias Munaf, who are convicts in the 2017 murder of iron scrap merchant H Farooq, and Asif Musthahin of Erode, who is an ISIS sympathiser.Akram Zindha has been transferred to the Madurai Central Prison. Saddam Hussain, Jaffar Ali and Abdul Munaf have been transferred to the Salem Central Prison. Ansath and Shamsudeen have been shifted to the Vellore Central Prison. Asif Musthahin has been shifted to the Cuddalore Central Prison. The Race Course police on Tuesday registered a case against Asif Musthahin for allegedly damaging lights at the central prison. He reportedly broke a light after a warder asked him to appear before a judge through videoconferencing. He allegedly argued with the warder and refused to cooperate.
