SALEM: Officials, teachers and others attending a meeting in the district primary education office on the third floor of the Salem district collectorate building ran out in panic after tiles cracked with a huge noise on Thursday afternoon.The floor tiles cracked when a legislative assurances committee meeting was being held under the chairmanship MLA Velmurugan. Those who attended the meeting panicked as they thought the floor cracked and they took to their heels. On realising that only tiles cracked, they returned to the office and continued the meeting.Tiles crack due to air bubbles caused by poor laying or other reasons.
