Hosur court sentences seven men to double life imprisonment for murder of Bengaluru man
KRISHNAGIRI: A court in Hosur in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district on Friday sentenced seven men to double life imprisonment for the murder of S Syed Ismail of Bengaluru that took place in Denkanikottai near here on March 12, 2019.Additional district judge of Hosur sub-court B Santhosh found S Syed Irshad, 28, Syed Kausbir, 48, Syed Irfan, 34, Munawar, 31, Syed Inayat, 28, Shamsuddin, 36, Naseer Ullah Sharif, 58, guilty of the murder of Syed Ismail. All the convicts hail from Bengaluru. The judge sentenced them to double life imprisonment for murder and criminal conspiracy and imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them. According to Denkanikottai police inspector T Ramesh, it was a revenge murder. Syed Ismail had murdered Syed Wazir, the father of one of the convicts, Syed Irshad, in Bengaluru on March 12, 2016 due to a previous enmity over real estate business dealings. "The seven men conspired to take revenge," said the inspector. On the pretext of discussing real estate business dealings, they summoned Syed Ismail to the Denkanikottai area and murdered him. The Denkanikottai police registered the case under various sections of the IPC including 302 (murder) and 120(B) (criminal conspiracy). They arrested the seven men and filed a chargesheet against them in the Hosur court which delivered the verdict on Friday.
