When aromatherapy expert Blossom Kochhar descended in Coimbatore after a long hiatus, it was nothing short of a walk down the memory lane for her. The beauty expert, who was in the city along with her daughter Samantha Kochhar, who runs the show with her in the beauty business, got chatting with CT.Tell us about your Coimbatore connection I grew up in Ooty and I used to visit Coimbatore now and then.
But unfortunately, I have not been able to come down to the city in the recent past. The city has changed; it looks bigger and more organized.
You have been advocating aromatherapy for almost three decades now. How far have you been successful? Aromatherapy has reached a wide range of people and it’s only getting even better. The best part about aromatherapy is that it works on the mind, especially stress-related problems and aches. Lavender oil, sandalwood oil, and jasmine oil can do wonders to one’s body and alleviate the problems caused by stress. They can be used in potpourri, perfumes or your bath.
How is the mother-daughter duo as a professional combo? It’s nice to have Samantha on board. She is quite creative and always brimming with new ideas. And we need the younger generation to take the business forward.
What else do you do when not in the beauty business? I take care of myself by doing yoga and following a strict workout regimen, along with meditation. When free, I indulge in some retail therapy. Since Samantha is averse to shopping, I take her son along. We are great shopping buddies.
