KRISHNAGIRI: Two youths were burnt to death in separate incidents near Krishnagiri. Two male bodies were found burnt on the roadside in the Veppalampattiy and Kodukur areas on the road leading to Rayakottai next to Krishnagiri.
The public in the area was shocked to see the charred bodies and immediately informed the Krishnagiri taluk police.
The Krishnagiri District Superintendent of Police P Thangadurai conducted an in-person investigation. Inspectors from Krishnagiri, Krishnagiri Taluk, Rayakottai, Denkanikottai, Guruparapalli, Veppanahalli and Maharaja Kadai arrived after receiving the information, rushed to the spot. They recovered the burnt and charred bodies and sent them to the Krishnagiri Government Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
Police actively investigated to establish the identities of the deceased. A sniffer dog was called to the place where the bodies were found, and a hunt was under way.
"A special team of eight inspectors was formed to investigate the deceased youths," the SP said. An intensive investigation is initiated.
