16-yr-old boy drowns in waterbody

Coimbatore: A 16-year-old boy drowned in a waterbody near Somayampalayam on the city outskirts on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as G Sabaressh, of Chinmaya Nagar on Thondamuthur Road at Vadavalli. He was a Class XI student of the government higher secondary school at Kalveerampalayam.
Police said the boy, his younger brother Dhanushkumar and friends Anishkumar, Pasupathi, Naveenkumar and Nagaraj had gone to the waterbody on Saturday evening to take bath.Sabareesh drowned, as he did not know how to swim. Vadavalli police retrieved the body and sent that to the government medical college hospital for autopsy. tnn
