Security guard dies five days after assault by delivery worker in Chennai
Chennai: A 47-year-old security guard, who was critically injured in an assault by a delivery worker at an apartment complex in K K Nagar on March 3, died early Sunday morning. The deceased, Velmurugan of Nesapakkam, was undergoing treatment at the govt Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital. Police said, Dinesh, 24, arrived on a motorcycle to deliver groceries to a resident of the apartment complex. When Velmurugan asked Dinesh to park his vehicle in the designated parking area, he refused to do so An altercation ensued and Dinesh rammed Velmurugan with his motorcycle, and assaulted him brutally. Police, who had earlier arrested Dinesh, altered the case to murder after Velmurugan's death. TNN
