Chennai cocaine case: Actors Srikanth, Krishna in drug storm; political links surface, AIADMK IT man named

CHENNAI: Two days after actor Srikanth's arrest in connection with cocaine possession and consumption, police on Wednesday detained another actor, Krishna, as part of an expanding investigation into a drug racket allegedly involving film personalities and political operatives. Krishna, who began as a child artist in Manirathnam's 'Anjali' and acted in 23 films, was nabbed at a friend's place by a police team after he went into hiding following Srikanth's arrest.While investigators said Srikanth told them AIADMK IT wing functionary T Prasad, also arrested in the case, introduced him to drugs and that Krishna was a regular drug user and close associate, Srikanth's phone records reportedly confirmed communication between them. Blood samples have been taken from Krishna to confirm drug use, and police are awaiting lab results before deciding on further legal action.
